  • 1.  BAW - BAI4S version compatibility

    Posted Thu May 12, 2022 02:27 PM

    Hello,

We are looking to configure BAI for Server v20.0.3 for BAW v21.0.3 (Traditional deployment) to emit both case and bpm events.

Where can I find the BAW - BAI version compatibility matrix ?

Is BAI4S v20.0.3 compatible with BAW v21.0.3 traditional deployment?

    Thanks,
    Aarthi Arumugam

    Hi Aarthi,
Sorry for the delay in answering this one!  I have learned from our team that BAI 20.0.3 and BAW 21.0.3 are compatible.  We don't actually have a compatibility matrix at this time, because most of the supported versions of BAW are currently compatible.

    Thanks!

Think before using BAI. It is not a matured product, changing directions, multiple limitation and 100% not well tested offering. We are getting hit from clients as and when we encounter limitations.

    Hello Thomas,

BAI4S is now a deprecated version and no future updates are coming. ICP4BA cones with Automation platform which has BAI, which is container version. Unfortunately that container version doesn't have Kibana used for dashboards.

IBM proposed option is to use BPC. BPS is still not matured enough and lacks all dashboards/visualization features Kibana offers. I had several discussions with ICP4BA product management to see what better and robust dashboard and reporting options feasible. But at this point I suggest you start BAI container version along with BPC. That's what is future road-map as I am hearing.

    Thomas,

Here is some update which could help you.

For ICP4BA, first you need to get Cloud Pak for Automation Foundation and you will get ElasticSearch, Kafka and Flink services. Then you install BAI as part of ICP4BA. Now you will get BPC working.

You can then install your own Kibana OSS on your container/server and that will be able to connect to BAI of ICP4Ba and you will get better Kibana dashboards.
