HI, David,
Welcome to Datacap. That is a bona fide, working-as-designed feature. When documents/multi-page TIFFs are converted/broken down into single-page TIFFs, they all get temp names. Your application will need to manage the name given to the exported documents, if you intend to keep the original name. The original file name should be hanging around in a page variable that you can use to re-assign to the output file.
Sounds like you a one-to-one relationship between incoming docs and exported ones. But many applications wind up merging pages from many input docs into one output doc, or one input doc into multiple output docs, so keeping the original file name would not be possible or make much sense.

Subject: PDF to TIFF Conversion File Names
Good morning. I am very new to Datacap and am building our first applications now. one issue I am running into is when doing a PDF to TIF conversion, the converted file does not retain the original files name. it seems to rename it to TM000002.TIF (I presume TM for Taskmaster). Part of the issue with that is when I have them upload the converted file(s) to FileNet, they all have the same name. I am not finding a setting/configuration where I can have it retain the original PDF's name. Is this a feature that is not available or am I just missing something? Thanx!
