Content Manager - fixpack adds new capabilities

I am delighted to share that IBM Content Manager 8.7.0.1 became generally available Dec 16, 2022.  Here are the highlights:

Solution Development
  • REST Services running in Liberty allows Liberty customers to leverage REST APIs introduced in May 2022 with V8.7.
  • Multi-server support with connection pool is provided for REST Servers.

    Governance
    • CM8 - Resource Manager now provides cloud object storage support for Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) for cloud scale.
HCP for cloud scale is a software-defined object storage solution that is based on a massively parallel micro-service architecture, and is compatible with the Amazon S3 application programming interface (API).
    • Support for Dell EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (Dell EMC ECS) version 3.8 and later.
    • S3 multi-part upload of large files.
Multipart upload allows you to upload a single object as a set of parts. Each part is a contiguous portion of the object's data. You can upload these object parts independently and in any order. If transmission of any part fails, you can retransmit that part without affecting other parts. After all parts of your object are uploaded, Amazon S3 assembles these parts and creates the object. In general, when your object size reaches 100 MB, you should consider using multipart uploads instead of uploading the object in a single operation.

    Simplified Administration and Installation
Added incremental improvements to the web-based admin tool.
    • Web-based Admin Tool enhancements - Last login timestamp & Web Hooks configuration.
    • Installation improvements - List running processes that have files locked, provide an option to not overwrite credentials on reconfiguration.
    • Event data indicates content change without retrieval.
    • Max character length attribute enforcement.
