TERMS OF USE

TERMS OF USE DESCRIBE YOUR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING YOUR USE OF THE IBM MIDDLEWARE USER COMMUNITY. BY USING THE IBM MIDDLEWARE USER COMMUNITY, YOU AGREE TO ENTER A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS WITH IBM.

IBM AND/OR HIGHER LOGIC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THESE TERMS OF USE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

Personal Information

In the event you compose a profile upon visiting the online community, the profile must:

  • provide accurate information about yourself
  • be maintained and promptly updated to maintain accuracy

We encourage representatives of Companies to declare who they work for in their user profile. This enables readers of their posts to judge the contents accordingly. The only exception to this rule is if the member's business is a sponsor of the IBM Middleware User Community, in which case they can include their business details in their signature. Rules pertaining to business representation also apply to logins.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your IBM Middleware User Community password.

When using the IBM Middleware User Community, you shall be subject to all IBM Middleware User Community web-based policies, including the online Community Netiquette, which can be found at www.imwuc.connectedcommunity.org/community-netiquette .This condition applies to all current and future web-based features or products provided by the IBM Middleware User Community.

Use of Content

All content published within the IBM Middleware User Community is subject to digital copyright laws. By using the online community, you agree to honor all applicable copyright regulations, as outlined in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the United States Copyright Act of 1976 and any other applicable laws or regulations that may go into effect.

You may use content for personal use only. Content shared external to the community must be approved by community administrators and be properly attributed to the source. You may not, for any reason, collect the profile information of other members and share that information externally.

The selling of any online community content is strictly prohibited.

You are not permitted to circumvent any security measures put in place to protect content that exists within the IBM Middleware User Community. 

When you post content to the IBM Middleware User Community, the content must be your own original work, or repurposed with permission from the original owner. Community members assume all risks associated with reusing materials that are not original. By contributing content to the online community, you grant the IBM Middleware User Community a royalty-free and irrevocable right to publish, distribute or revise content you publish within the online community. The IBM Middleware User Community will never disclose personal, private information

The IBM Middleware User Community strictly permits overt advertising, product marketing promotions and sales collateral from being posted or distributed to the community in any way.

Content Management

IBM is not liable for any damages resulting from content posted by other users. Content within the online community represents the collective work of individuals with varied backgrounds, viewpoints and ideologies. In choosing to use the IBM Middleware User Community, you should acknowledge that instances of extreme disagreement might arise. These instances should not be viewed as a personal attack or cause contention between members.

You are solely responsible for the content you post, upload and share within the IBM Middleware User Community. The IBM Middleware User Community has no obligation to review content before it is submitted, but may edit or remove content if it is deemed to violate community Moderation Policies, to disobey laws or regulations, or to put into question the integrity of the community or other members.

The IBM Middleware User Community is not liable if you submit content that violates any of the previously mentioned policies, rules, laws or regulations, to you or any third party that may be involved. You will be held fully responsible for the action and material in question.

The IBM Middleware User Community does not acknowledge or verify the validity or accuracy of any content within the online community. Content or materials contributed by community members does not represent the views of the IBM Middleware User Community.

Disputes Between Users

IBM Middleware User Community has no obligation to mediate or resolve member-to-member disputes. The IBM Middleware User Community maintains sole discretion on how to handle member disputes, disagreements or other questionable occurrences that may happen within the online community. In response to misconduct, the IBM Middleware User Community reserves the right to edit, delete or modify content in the online community and/or remove community member accounts as it deems is in the best interest of the online community.

Miscellaneous

Through the online community, the IBM Middleware User Community might provide you with services such as file libraries, blogs, discussion forums, wikis, stores, issue monitoring and/or events. If these services, in part or whole, become unavailable, discontinued or out-of-service, the IBM Middleware User Community shall not be held liable. The addition of any new services shall fall under all provisions outlined in this documentation.
