Hi Harry,
It depends on your use case. Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps (CP4WA) includes Topology Management as well a limited use Event Manager and at install time there is a very easy ,install all, function routine. If your goal is not to do event management as you already do that today then you wouldn't need to buy the CP4WA Event Management component.
The strength of CP4WA is in its ability to spot issues in one or more log files. Is that one problem or several? The benefit of using the included topology is we can derive if it is likely to be one story or several as we can automatically see the topology relationships. Indeed if you have events/alarms also coming from other components these can also be attached to the same single story (if relevant) or left to your normal event management process. This means instead of chasing several/many incidents you can focus on just one, with all the relevant data to hand be that log, event, monitoring, topology and incident data all relating to this specific issue. Enabling faster resolution, reducing operational costs and ensuring the end user and business remain delighted.

Hi Fred,
Can I use AI Manager without the rest, e.g. Event and Topology Manager?
Thanks, Harry
